Firms vulnerable to web attacks
A recent study carried out by security firm McAFee has found that many firms are taking too long to update their software with security patches. This is leaving them vulnerable to hackers and other forms of internet attacks.
The report has discovered that 19% of firms take more than a week to apply software patches with a further 27% saying they take 2 days to apply these patches.
A massive 45% responded to the survey by saying that they were never completely protected against security threats.
Previous research has suggested that 85% of the damage caused by attacks occurs within 15 days of the security flaw being discovered.
