Yahoo and Microsoft link Instant Messenger services

Instant Messaging giants Microsoft and Yahoo have produced software that will allow users of their Instant Messaging tools to communicate with each other.

Previously, this was only possible using seperate accounts on their respsective IM tools, but now using the trial software users will be able to communicate with people on either platform.
