Workshops to advise parents on the social networking risk
Social networking is one of the fastest growing trends on the internet, but you certainly would not be alone if you have not heard of this term before.
Social network sites such as Beboo and MySpace are sites that create social communities of people who can then interact, share information and upload photographs of themselves. While these sites are on the whole very responsible and publish advice about staying safe online up to half of the people using these sites are under 18.
With this many children interacting there is the possibility of paedophiles using these sites to 'groom' them.
Parents are now to get advice on how to protect their children online through a series of workshops being run by The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (Ceop).
