PC buyers want more eco-friendly computers
A recent survey for Greenpeace has discovered that PC users want more ecologically friendly PCs containing less toxic chemicals and that PC manufacturers should take more responsibility for the disposal of old machines.
According to the research carried out by Ipsos-Mori UK users are willing to spend an extra £64 for greener PCs, which coincides with PC maker Dell announcing that they are to phase out some of the toxic chemicals used to make their PCs.
The waste from the disposal of electronic equipment is a massive global issue with thirty million PCs being discarded each year in the US alone.
