Barclays Bank to provide anti-virus software to all online customers

In an attempt to improve security for it's online banking customers, Barclays Bank is to supply anti-virus software to all it's online banking customers.

In a historic move Barclays have agreed a deal with Finnish security firm F-Secure to purchase 1.6 million copies of their anti-virus software and includes 2 years of updates to ensure that the virus protection is kept current.

Research quoted in the BBC article also highlights that 56% of consumers have no anti-virus protection on their PCs!

This highlights a major issue in computing today. If you have a computer it is essential that you also have anti-vrius software to protect it from virus threats. If you are connected to the internet you should also have a firewall and anti-spyware protection.
